Every last Sunday of the month Soweto Theatre brings exciting sounds of soothing jazz from established and up-and-coming musicians.

South Africa has never been short of songs. A multiplicity of language groups, storytelling styles and faith traditions have all contributed elements woven and re-woven over generations to sing of personal landmarks and community histories The debut album from Ziza Muftic Quartet Silver Moonbeams is an excellent addition to the South African jazz scene. On Sunday 30 August, Croatian born Ziza Muftic will add to this country’s rich tapestry of storytelling through song.

Her music lessons begun at the tender age of 7 and her first instrument was a violin, she subsequently continued her studies majoring in classical singing and piano.

She has performed with some of South Africa`s top musicians such as, Johnny Furie, Sydney Mnisi, Reza Khota and Marcus Wyatt to mention just a few. Her debut album, Moonbeams is produced by master trumpeter, Marcus Wyatt.
