The Inaugural South African Music Marathon is a new platform that will afford young musicians the opportunity to showcase their talents.
The music marathon will host various events starting in Rustenburg in the North West on 22 March 2015 at the Lesung Community Hall. The programme will provide participants with opportunities to network, develop their artistic and management skills and participate in an exchange programme.
Founder of the programme, Sello Ramosepele said: “It’s been a longstanding dream of mine to give back to my community. We aim to roll out the programme nationally and I hope that many emerging young musicians will realize their potential through this project and go on to reach great heights in their careers.”
The event, which is strictly targeted at young musicians in disadvantaged areas across the country, will be exposed to talent scouts with the aim of bridging the creative divide in impoverished areas.
The Inaugural South African Music Marathon in Rustenburg is presented by Ramose Performing Arts and is supported by the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT), Nedbank Arts Affinity and Braam Vibes Publicity
