The internationally acclaimed Russian piano duo, Lavrova and Primakov, are set to dazzle at the Nederburg Concert Series on Sunday 25 October.

South African audiences have heard virtuoso concert pianists Natalia Lavrova and Vassily Primakov in brilliant solo recitals on previous occasions, but now the combined talents of the two extraordinary musicians can be experienced in one concert. The programme to be performed at Nederburg is titled ‘Virtuosity Extravaganza’ and includes works for solo piano and piano four hands.

Although the two pianists enjoy highly successful careers as solo concert artists, it is their love for playing two piano and piano four hands compositions that saw them establishing their duo partnership in 2010. Since then, their dazzling display in performance of piano duo works has garnered numerous accolades from international audiences and critics.

Two major solo piano works are included in the programme for Nederburg – Franz Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy, performed by Primakov, and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a theme of Corelli, performed by Lavrova.

The rest of the programme is dedicated to works for piano four hands and includes Carl Czerny’s Grand Sonata for Piano Four Hands in F Minor, Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Six Morceaux, as well as Darius Milhaud’s delightful Le Boeuf Sur Le Toit.

The concert starts at 17h00 and tickets at R220 per person include sherry on arrival, Nederburg Brut during interval, plus top Nederburg wines which will be served with a delicious finger supper after the concert. Bookings can be made via email on or by calling 021 809 8412/8106 during office hours.

The Nederburg Concert Series presents the Lavrova-Primakov Piano Duo on Sunday 25 October at the historical Nederburg Manor House in Paarl.

The series is presented by Nederburg, in association with the Distell Foundation.
