Well-known South African musicians, composers, songwriters and performers Wendy Oldfield and Paul Hanmer, will be embarking on Songlines: an extensive SA tour throughout July and August visiting Johannesburg, Durban, the KZN Midlands, Cape Town, the Garden Route and Grahamstown.
Wendy and Paul are both esteemed South African musicians: Wendy an indie rock world songwriter and singer and Paul a legendary jazz pianist and composer. Together they bridge a path between genres with their own original style and sound, creating a new live music experience.
The Johannesburg leg of the tour kicks off on Wednesday 15 July at the legendary home of jazz, The Bassline. This unique collaboration will see Wendy Oldfield and Paul Hanmer beautifully fusing jazz, folk, pop and African rhythms to produce a truly memorable sound. The seminal Songlines Tour will include guest performers along the way. Songlines live at The Bassline features none other than legendary saxophonist McCoy Mrubata.
The Songlines Tour with Wendy Oldfield and Paul Hanmer is made possible by the Concerts
SA Mobility Fund – a funding mechanism which offers opportunities for South African
musicians to undertake live music tours.
