The finalists in the Jazz Category of the 5th Unisa National Piano Competition were announced on Thursday 16 July. They are Lungelo Ngcobo from Durban and Kyle Shepherd from Cape Town.

The first half of the final round will be dedicated to the two jazz finalists, each performing in a trio setup with seasoned musicians Rob Watson (drums) and Victor Masondo (bass).
The two finalists in the Classical Category will perform after interval. Willem de Beer will perform the fourth piano concerto by Beethoven, followed by Rachmaninov’s third concerto performed by Megan-Geoffrey Prins. The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Eric Rycroft.
Tickets for the final round are sold at Computicket.
