Gauteng music lovers are in for a treat this coming weekend, with a special performance by the world renowned Contemporary South African Jazz artist that is Ernie Smith at Iketleng Pub and Restaurant, Vereeniging, on Sunday 29 November.
Having recently come out of a writing and producing sabbatical, Ernie Smith is bubbling over with music and has a new album to show for it, called “Time For Love”. He has had the privilege of working alongside and sharing stages with an impressive array of musical heavyweights like Jonathan Butler, Salif Keita and the late Moses Taiwa Molelekwa; who have all in some way or another influenced Ernie’s distinctly world class yet homely repertoire.
Ernie is super excited about the new album and has said “I love being in studio writing and singing, but nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing my music touching people through the gift of song.” Well, does he ever have a gift for you!
“The Sunday Soiree ft Ernie Smith” promises to be a delightful Live music experience, brought to you by Concerts SA as part of their efforts to re-ignite the appreciation of live music and, in turn, grow a sustainable performance economy.
What better way to play your part than to come soak in the sun and drink in the music of this thoughtful virtuoso, playing tracks from his new album as well as some familiar favourites at the home of Live music in Sebokeng – Iketleng.
