Auditions are currently being held for Palissander, one of South Africa’s premier chamber choirs, that is based in Pretoria.

Palissander is an independent amateur choir of international standing that was formed in 1992. It has to date performed to great acclaim in Canada, Kenya, Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.

The choir tours overseas every second year and in the years in-between it tours domestically. This year, Palissander will tour to Italy and France from 3-19 July.

The choir consists of between 24 and 28 members. Auditions are being held for a short period for members who can join the choir on its tour in July. Currently, there are vacancies for a first tenor, a second tenor and a baritone. Previous choral experience and sight-reading ability are strongly recommended.

The choir’s core values are passion, abundance, joy, respect and acceptance. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 19:15 to 21:30 at the University of Pretoria.
